Man, I love the shirataki noodles on a cut but I can’t eat them with anything but asian flavors. Maybe I’ll give this a try again…
My wife and I got on the shiritaki bandwagon a couple of years ago. We were both competing in bodybuilding and hated the “empty” feeling when dieting down. She heard about these, we found a little asian store in the area and have been hooked ever since. The only problem is a local weight loss business in the area starting recommending it for their clients now it’s brutal trying to find them in stock.
The shirataki noodles I get will give off some water, so I like to cook them in the pan a little, after I’ve started my mushrooms etc. Otherwise, my end result can seem too watery. My brand also needs a really good rinsing, first. Otherwise they can smell a little funky. Your mileage may vary. I do love ‘em! Totally covers for any pasta cravings I might have.
Got to check these noodles and the recipe out, never heard of them before now.
Have you tried spiralising zucchini (courgette) to make noodles/pasta? Slightly higher carb, but more vegetable nutrients!
