Jim’s Burgers with Special Cheesy “Buns”
- 2 pounds ground beef
- ¼ cup Worcestershire
- 1 teaspoon Coarse Sea Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black pepper
- White bread (enough to make six “buns” for burgers)
- American Cheese (approximately 8 slices)
Directions
For Burgers:
- In a medium bowl, combine beef, salt, pepper and Worcestershire.
- Mix well.
- Divide mixture into equal balls.
- Form into patty shapes.
- Make a slight indentation in the center of the patty.
- Place patties in freezer until ready to grill.
- Heat grill to high heat.
- Put patties on grill.
- Cook for 5 minutes per side.
For Cheesy “Buns” (grilled cheese)
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Spread some of the butter on the top of each sandwich.
- Place sandwiches butter side down in the skillet.
- Spread butter on the other sides.
- Cook until golden brown on each side, about 3 minutes per side.
Take two grilled cheese sandwiches put burger between and enjoy the awesomeness! If you feel you can’t handle it, use boring traditional burger buns.

Friendly’s sells the same thing, in case you’re not in the mood to cook. It’s epicly awesome.
I really like the sound of that!! Thanks I’ll be trying that soon!!!
Had never thought about a recipe like this. Although I love Friendly’s, I bet this will come out better.
Wicked awesome
Thank you.
Glad you guys like the recipes. I’m working on some for the fall and winter so you can maintain the bloat all year!
Holy S, I’ve had something pretty similar at a hardy’s (I think) and it was awesome. I think there may have been bacon involved as well. I’m going to pair this with the ice cream sandwich recipe from a couple weeks ago and have a feast of ridiculousness after a big deadlift PR or something.
This seems to be missing something. Where does the cheese go? On the bread or burger? It not listed in this except for the ingredient list.
I saw that Friendly’s had these from a report about how obese people in America were getting. So I went to the local chow hall (I’m in Iraq) and grabbed two grilled cheese and slammed two burgers between them and it was bloat heaven. I only wish I did it on a Sunday so it would have had better carry over for my Squat day.
Live and learn.
Felix,
Oops. The cheese is for making the cheesy buns, aka grill cheese in between step three and four of the cheesy buns directions. Sorry about that!

I do love my toasted cheese sandwiches, never thought of adding meat in between, genius!!!
How many calories would this be roughly?
