Dave, can you address the differences in foot positioning requirements for USAPL vs. IPA? I have to keep my feet flat to be legal. How does this affect my setup?

Andrew,

Not speaking for Dave, but I have used a foam roller to get my arch up......you can start with a 4" roller or a foam roller cut in half. You just have to keep working.....it doesn't come easily. I just want to emphasize that setting up for the bench press is NOT comfortable.

Dave is there any exercise I can do to help me get a big arch when I bench. I don't know if its lack of back flexibility or just bad set up that prevents me from having a big arch like you do. Normally I just get set up and then raise my chest up as high as I can, but next time I bench I'm going to try and mimic your set up as close as I can. Thank you so much for all these technique videos and I can't wait for more of them.

Dave,

A series well done. Look forward to you expanding it to squat and deadlift. In the next video will you be covering grip placement? You spoke of it early on in the series and a definite plus would demonstrating ways to evaluate and choose one's best grip. Keep the faith...

Thanks

Excellent series. This is helping as much as a video could. Putting this to practice will be another matter, but this is an excellent base to start from.

Dave - you have spoken about grip width and changing Josh's. What is the minimum distance you would recommend for grip width? I used to put my pointer fingers on the SMOOTH part of the bar to assist me with an AC strain in my shoulder. I'm in the process of going wider since this series, but I'm not sure how wide to go.

Thanks.
