Thomas, I, too, appreciate your synopses of published scientific studies. Again, the results of the study on rest intervals in the squat, support the the principle of an inverse relationship between intensity and volume, in that, the longer rest group (thus, the lower intensity group) lifted greater volume. However, this relationship is not a simple one... and particularly with experienced lifters. Quality volume, i.e. optimal levels of volume and intensity is what is important for maximal strength. Determining those levels is the art of training.

Please keep these coming. It's great to get scientific information like that. Too many coaches out there seem to pull unfounded opinions out of their asses.
I found the rest interval study particularly interesting because I've been very uncertain lately about the validity of long rest periods on max effort sessions. Personal strength improvements I've seen from Christian Thibedeuax's IBB seemed to negate this idea, even though every text book out there calls for several minutes of rest to increase max strength. I guess this study takes us one more step in the direction of disproving that old "truth".

I thought this article had some interesting facts, but did not catch my attention as it was boring. Just my opinion. I skimmed over most of it, but maybe it is because I am reading it late at night.
